The Dressmaking Process (continued)

Dressmaking Steps 2

Step #2 - Pattern Drafting/Muslin and Lining Fittings -
Based on your measurements we will draft a pattern for the
commissioned garment.  From that pattern we will produce
a muslin (a sample of the actual garment made out of
cotton). We then proceed to a lining fitting before we cut
your fabric. All design specifications will be gone through
at both fittings to make sure that they are what you want.
Once you authorize us to manufacture the garment based
on the fittings, a second payment will be taken.

Anything and everything that you will be wearing
with your garment besides the garment itself must
come with you to
all fittings e.g: bra, pantyhose,
control undergarments, jewelry, shoes, sneakers,
wigs etc.

Maternity/Post-Maternity: Production space needs to be
booked well in advance; however, actual manufacturing
and fitting of the garment will be done close to the event
date to ensure a perfect fit.

Fabric Selection and Purchase -  All garments are
designed with the appropriate fabric in mind. You are
welcome to provide your own fabric or preferably we  will
assist you in selecting fabric. We will handle the
purchasing of fabric if requested.
Fabric shopping
services are available at an additional hourly cost,
during which we will accompany you to select and
purchase the fabric.
In addition, we carry many fabric
swatches on hand, enabling us to place the fabric orders
directly from our vendors.  Please note, all fabric orders
placed through Couture By Caryn will incur a $25 shipping
and handling fee.
